Images That Caught My Eye

So, if you read my last journal entry, you know that my boyfriend's co-worker is in a medically induced coma battling his usual bout of health problems along with Guillian Barre Syndrome. I asked for good vibes in regard to that matter, so please check out THAT journal if you'd like to offer happy thoughts.

NOW...

I get a call from my mom last week, informing me that my grandfather's brother-in-law (his little sister's husband)is BACK in the hospital for the 6+ time in the past 3 months. He's had multiple heart attacks in only the past few months; he's got to have surgery in the next few weeks to place stints because 2 of his arteries are 90% blocked. If the stints do not hold, and given his other health problems, they aren't likely to last; he'll need to have open heart bypass. This man can't even go outside for risk of the heat causing a heart attack. He just sits near his ac unit all day...and now the electric company is threatening to shut off their power because they cannot afford this bill on top of all of medical bills.

And last night, I find out that his (my grandfather's) little sister has been diagnosed with lung cancer. Now, if given all of the information, it seems it's stage one and a 7cm mass. Maybe they haven't done any tests to find out if the stage is higher or not though. The stage for lung cancer changes when the cancer has spread from it's original place of formation to any other part in the body. So far, I hear her's is still localized to her lungs.

This poor woman's new health problems are on top of all of her previous ones. To my knowledge, she's had heart problems, and at least one heart attack this year, HBP, diabetes (possibly), and a range of issues involving her kidneys.

These people can't afford any of this. My family can barely hold their own, so we're in no place to help them with their financial burdens either. It just seems that all of the expensive sort of bad, always happens to the people who can afford it the least.

And all right before the holidays --- it never fails...

Not for me, for my friend and his wife. He has been in the hospital three times in the past 12 months. Last time the splints in his heart let go, along with the one going to one of his kidneys. I found out Monday he is back in the hospital with lack of feeling in his legs and arms. I find out Wednesday he has a kidney infection. I haven't been able to get a hold of his wife, and his co-workers don't know which hospital he is at. I just found out 30 minutes ago he is in a medically-induced coma diagnosed with Gillian-Barre Syndrome. He is in Special ICU. His wife can't work and he is two years from retirement.

If you have a specific Diety you send prayers/wishes to, can you do that for them please?
